I have a new palette to work with and I'm so excited about it! Yes, me...the anti-outdoor, anti-gardening, anti-weeding Becky. The same Becky that fought my mom to the death rather than help her in her beloved gardening. The same Becky that hates to get dirty, hates dirt, hates to be hot and generally hates to be outside unless it's the fall. I have a garden...and I'm excited about it! When we first moved into our house, right after the driveway, the yard was a steep slope into the back yard. Dave has built a retaining wall, filled it with dirt and recently (almost) completed the project with a railing, stairs, and re-building the deck rails. Now, for the planting. I have transplanted some hostas and some phlox already, and my mom gave me the new purple plants for Easter. We eagerly planted them this week after the frost. See below for information on that crazy mess! We planted a Rose of Sharon tree on one side. My dreams are for a wonderful garden full of color, smells and food! I plan on adding a butterfly bush and whatever plants I can talk my mom and my neighbor Robert into digging up and splitting for me! I'll keep you posted, but for now, check out my new palette!

A butterfly bush? As in to attract butterflies? Cool! I can't wait to see what you do...I know it could take a year...
