What are you watching?
I started renting the HBO series, Big Love, this week. I'm on disk 3 and I'm totally addicted. Not enough to fork out the extra money each month to have HBO, but enough to have me driving from Blockbuster to Blockbuster today to get disk 3! Thank you, Dave, for looking up locations for me! The show has a great cast and great writers. The basic story is that Bill Paxton plays a polygamist who has 3 wives and it chronicles their daily lives and struggles. Very funny, very emotional at times...gosh, I hate Nicki!
As for what's on the telly?
We're watching, and yet again loving, "So You Think You Can Dance". Now that Bailey's into dancing and I've gotten to see the top dancers in her company perform, I'm even more excited to watch this season.
Hell's Kitchen just started! Dave and I have enjoyed this show from season 1. They're still cooking Beef Wellington (as it's hard to make correctly). I am hoping upon hope that on my cruise...which I leave for in 3 days!!!...they will serve it. I am dying to try it! We missed the first episode, but I have it on my DVR now. Gordon Ramsey makes Simon Cowell look like a sweet little lamb!
We're still enjoying Deadliest Catch. We were recently introduced to it and love it. It's so extremely exciting and dangerous and heartbreaking and joyful...all in each show! In the episode we just watched tonight, it left us with a cliffhanger...one boat is one mile from the docks and it's trapped in ice. The crew has to get their survival gear on and we're not even sure the dock is open! Scary! Plus, we just LOVE Mike Rowe, from Dirty Jobs, and he's the narrator! Awesome.
So, that's what's on our boob tube. How about yours?
Pep LOVES the deadliest catch ... it's pretty good - I'll hang in there for a while, but not normally the whole episode. Honestly, I'm not watching much of anything this summer! (BTW - I like my new 'name' - mandi with an i!

She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (did I mention how annoying she is?!?!) I mean, she looks like she either has a clothes hanger in her mouth or got some bad plastic surgery!! And her laugh! UGH! I'd rather hear a cat grinding in a blender!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI also occasionally watch "America's Got Talent". (notice I said occasionally) People will do whatever, and I do mean WHATEVER, they can just to get on national TV!!
Most of what I watch is during the day:
I watch Saved by the Bell from about 7:00 - 9:00.
Then I flip between "Today" "Regis & Kelly" "Martha Stewart" and whatever movie is on TBS.
Then I might catch a little bit of the news at noon.
Then at 1:00 it's DAYS!! I've been watching the same soap since I was about 7. I know...it's kind of a disorder!
Then at 3:00 I've gotten into Rachel Ray. Granted, she herself is on the annoying side, but the content of her show is good and of course the recipes!!
And after her, I tune in and see what Oprah has going on.
The only thing I watch at night is Extra and Entertainment Tonight. Gotta keep with Hollywood :)
Beck, I was thinking about picking up some HBO shows, too. Is Big Love too weird b/c of the polygamy thing--I mean is it a sexual show? It sounds cool and weird at the same time.

We tivoed but haven't watched The Traveler. Looks lame.
But The Closer starts this week! Yay!
