So, what's new with me from last year?
-If you look at my menu plan last week, you'll see I'm on a new weight loss journey with the Maximized Living Nutrition Plan- eliminating ALL sugar, including fruit and grains! Yowza! I can tell you right now though that I am going to be breaking my diet next Friday when I'm at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Yes, that's right! I will drink a lovely butterbeer and I can't wait!!! I'm one of those Harry Potter obsessed people. My chiropractor and diet guru tells me I'm going to feel terribly sick with all that sugar so to be prepared. It will be worth it!
-Although I can't discuss school things here on my blog, I can say that this year I went from a regular ed kindergarten class to an inclusion kindergarten class. About 1/3 of my class is special ed and 2/3 are regular ed. I always used to say, "I could never do that." I volunteered on a whim and I am in love. I don't ever want to do anything else. Some of that is because of my fabulous kiddos and some of that is because of my fantabulous co-teacher who I just adore. I can now call her one of my bffs. <3
-My husband and I have decided to separate and we have spent the past few months getting our house ready to list. In the next few weeks it will go on the market and as soon as it sells, I will be on my own. Scary. Hopeful. Sad. Honestly, it's why I haven't blogged much in the past few months, even after going to Blissdom. I've kind of lost myself in books, friends and tv, but hopefully I'll get out of my rut soon. So, if I seem absent, it's just an emotional time for me. I'll be back- I promise.
-I can't wait to browse the different UBP '11 posts this year and hopefully meet new people!
As part of today's party, I want to introduce you to some of my favorite bloggy friends! There are 10 of us who each have a word photo included in their post. These words make up a sentence. We will each link you up to the lady who has the next word in the sentence, which is Mary at Giving Up on Perfect —but keep in mind that I might not have the first word in the sentence!
Once you have the sentence, e-mail it to sisterchickies@gmail.com with “UBP11″ in the subject line. Each person with the correct sentence will be in a drawing to win a $100 Target gift card! The winner will be announced on all of our blogs on April 11 and the winner will be e-mailed. The winner has 48 hours to respond or we’ll pick someone else.

Nice to meet you at the UBP11! Hop on over to my blog at www.jillsavage.org where I'll be giving away several books each day at the party!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a diet that will take some major commitment! I'm sending good vibes your way!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you're going through a separation! Hugs!! That and having to eliminate all sugar?? Sugar is one thing, but having to give up fruit?
ReplyDeleteAre you still winning stuff? I love meeting others that share the hobby of sweepstaking. My biggest win was a trip to Napa Valley & meeting Iron Chef Cat Cora. You should visit my blog and read my post on that from 2008. I also have been listing my monthly wins this year.
Wow - No Sugar! You will have to tell me how it goes. I adore my sugar fixes. But of course that is probably why I am overweight.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have had a tough few months - but I hope you will emerge from it stronger and happier! I am definitely following you now! I look forward to reading more! Thanks! Nice to meet you!

Nice to "meet" you. Your 2/3 1/3 class sounds really nice. I remember in the 2nd grade we had 3 special ed kids in our class part time and it was really great. Of all the kids in my class that year they are the ones I really remember.
ReplyDeleteThanks for opening your heart to the blog world. Praying that God will meet you right where you are at and give you the encouragement that you need. And what better place to start than with a community that genuinely seems to care for one another?!!

ReplyDeletebless your heart - my son is in a special ed preschool that includes peer mentors (perhaps that's thought to be inclusion too? either way...) and he's learned so much socially from his friends and teachers!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your separation. I'll be praying for you and your husband.
Hi there, Helena from UBP! I work in a remedial HS in a special ed self-contained behavior unit with all boys. I hope that all goes well for you! I actually love my job and my co-teacher. He's the best! As for your own life, you need to do what you need to do to keep yourself sane and emotionally available. Good luck with EVERYTHING! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your separation. I've been separated for over 4yrs and we are now proceeding wtih the divorce. Part of that is taking over my bills. I'm so freaked out! My oldest daughter wanted to be a teacher since she was like 7. She has now decided to go into Social work w/ an emphasis on disadvantaged kids. She's so cool! =)
ReplyDeleteSo nice to connect with you thru the #ubp11
